How to Type in Bengali

Our typing tool transforms any Roman English characters to Bengali words. For example-
Typing Tumi kemana acho will transform into তুমি কেমন আছো.
Typing Tomake dekhe khuba bhalo lagache will transform into তোমাকে দেখে খুব ভালো লাগছে.

What is Roman English?

Roman English in Bengali typing is a way of typing Bengali words using the English alphabet. It is commonly used in casual online communication, particularly on social media or messaging platforms, where people write Bengali phonetically in English script.

Tips for Typing in Bengali

  • Press space bar to turn Roman English words into Bengali words.
  • To type a full stop (ফুল স্টপ), press the pipe key (|) located in the special characters. This will insert "।" in the text area.

Basics of Bengali Language

Bengali, or Bangla (বাংলা), is an Indo-Aryan language predominantly spoken in the Bengal region, which encompasses Bangladesh and the Indian state of West Bengal, as well as parts of Assam and Tripura. It is the seventh most spoken language in the world, with over 230 million native speakers and a significant number of second-language speakers.

Bengali is the official language of Bangladesh and one of the 22 scheduled languages of India. Renowned for its rich literary heritage, Bengali boasts one of the world's oldest continuous literary traditions, dating back to the 10th century CE.
